Helen has been a practising psychologist for 24 years.  In addition, she is a qualified Social Worker who first graduated in 1992.

During Helen’s years of practice, she has worked in both the private and public sectors in major mental health settings with both adults and children.

Clients have presented with a multiplicity of issues including workplace difficulties, personal and professional problems together with trauma-based experiences and family conflict.

Helen has extensive experience in working in the mental health area including with high prevalence disorders such as anxiety and depression, PTSD, and relationship issues.

Helen’s main therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, trauma-informed therapies as well as attachment-based approaches.

Helen has extensive experience in providing EAP programs, training, and secondary consultations to human service providers and welfare organisations.

At ACT Curious the focus of Helen’s practise will be with adults and young people over the age of 16 years.  In addition to providing therapy, EAP, and secondary consultations, Helen has extensive experience as a supervisor of students and professionals in both the disciplines of psychology and social work.

Helen is an approved supervisor with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) and as such has completed specific training in providing reflective clinical supervision.
